When: .. 7-11 pm, Sunday, 17 July,2011

Where: .. The Tanglin Club, Draycott Drive, S'pore257814

Why : .. 'Coz, Dear Friends, after 50 years, it's nice to meet,
share and recall the good times we had at school and relive
them again as pretty soon many of us may not even remember.
With the days passing by so fast let this be our one chance
to come together and say: “Hi there, it’s so good to see you
once more to talk about our growing-up days at Katong Convent
School that took place those many years ago in our past!”

Whatever… Live well, laugh often and LOVE with all your heart!

Praying for the Japanese people

Hi Good People,

It is already 2011 and so far only a few of us are interested to have
any gathering, least of all coming together for dinner which means
a lot of chatter and sharing of a meal that many would like to avoid...
staying fit and slim in our advancing years being a main reason
(yes? no? your choice, LOL!!)

So as not to waste this space, specially in the wake of the recent
disastrous earthquake and tsunami that has befallen our Japanese friends,
on Friday, March 11, 2011, I would like to share a prayer for them.

This prayer has probably reached many of you via Arthur, Penny's hubby,
but is worth repeating here:

"Please continue to pray for the souls of those who perished and also
for the surviving families.

God bless and have mercy on the world ...

Lord, I just want to say THANK YOU, because this morning I woke up
and know where my children are.

Because this morning my home was still standing,

Because this morning I am not crying as my spouse, my child, my brother
or sister, my parent does not need to be buried or to be pulled out
from underneath a pile of concrete,

Because this morning I was able to drink a glass of water,

Because this morning I was able to turn on the light,

Because this morning I was able to take a shower,

Because this morning I was not planning a funeral,

But most of all I thank you this morning because I still have
life and a voice to cry out for the people of Japan.

Lord I cry out to you, the One that makes the impossible, possible,
The One that turns darkness into light; I cry out

That You give those mothers strength, that You give them peace
that surpasses all understanding,

That You may open the streets so that help can come,

That You may provide doctors, nurses, food, water, and all that
they need in a blink of an eye.

For all those that have lost family members, give them peace,
give them hope, give them courage to continue to go on!

Protect the children and shield them with your power.
I pray all this in the name of Jesus!!! "

Amen

Post KCClass61 Reunion

It was an excited bevy of ladies who came to meet each other again in
celebration of this reunion after 50 years.
*
There were more than thirty of us and four former teachers who attended
to share fond memories of schooldays at Katong Convent while recalling
unforgettable events which warmed the hearts and drew loud laughter.
*
Poh Neo, the main organiser who arranged the venue and coordinated the
function, distributed a CD montage put together by Rita Minjoot which
was shown to the delight of all present as they saw themselves again
in school uniform, bringing back reminders of youthful exploits.
*
Perhaps those who went up to the mike to speak of what they remembered
most of their KC days could take time to write it down for sharing again
with the others. If you are one of them, do send your rendition to be
placed in our reunion album at http://to.ly/aJOo ;
*
As requested, to assist with your profile page, here are some questions
to guide you, although if you look at the pages already in the album,
a page really cannot contain too many details, when images are included:
*
a..Where are you now in terms of career, family and location?
b..What can you remember or wish to recall of your student days at KC?
c..What are your plans for the present, future or if you are contented
with life, who are you thankful to, or what are you grateful for?

Not to worry as your write-up could be in draft for me to finalise
and returned to you before it is posted in the album and you can
change or delete it whenever as it is just a short showcase of your
life that you would like to share with the now very adult generation
who were part of your life once upon a time.

Live, laugh and love a lot!
